ABOUT US
Our group worked well together from the beginning because we all connected on our passion for the mission of the SPCA. In addition to being passionate about the mission our group quickly began to form friendships. The open communication allowed for our group to establish a welcoming atmosphere. We all acknowledged that we have busy lives and the understanding of this helped make the process of the project more enjoyable.
Weaknesses: Timing
One weakness our team faced pertained to the general timing of meeting together and completing our tasks at hand. As the semester progressed, our individual schedules became extremely busy and finding time to meet was often difficult. Due to the difficulty of finding blocks of time to meet as a group, we were challenged with having to procrastinate more than we desired.
Weakness: Stay on track during meetings
Another weakness our team faced was our ability to stay on task during meeting times. We got along well as individuals so we would begin most meetings discussing our personal lives, which gave us a relaxed atmosphere. However, this was a weakness because we wouldn’t accomplish as much as we planned on in the time we had scheduled for the meeting. This led to us having more work to do outside of meetings or staying longer than we intended to.
Strengths: Strong Communication
Our team connected early on so we had great communication as a group. We mainly used iMessage to communicate in addition to google docs and email. The group chat was where we communicated about group meetings and assignments. In our group meetings we would spend time talking about our lives as friends and this helped us to be more straight-forward with addressing conflicts and issues for the event. We had an understanding that we needed to accomplish our goals for the event so we were clear with our individual opinions.
Strengths: Passion
One strength that we had as a group was our passion for this organization’s mission. The SPCA has impacted all of lives individually in a positive manner, which pushed us as a team to give our full effort throughout the process of this event. The passion helped us to connect as a group from the start, which gave our group meetings a positive atmosphere making it an enjoyable experience overall. We were very motivated to make the event the best that it could possibly be because we all believe in what the organization stands for.
